Hi, I'm Layla

A math tutor from Emu Heights.

Helping students with math is what I do

Tutor maths to succeed

Respecting and supporting students

To my mind the most essential part of teaching maths is actually to communicate the beauty and the ease of the topic while valuing particular student's learning speed. I rely on trusting in every single child, the fact that each one holds the power to realise and do the mathematics exposed to them. I consider that the goal of lesson is to equip each student with skills and good sense to progress and perform in the general public. Due to this, I wish to treat my scholars with respect and to be as supporting as possible in the education process whilst imposing them to uncover new ways of thinking and fresh ideas and standards. I will take into account every specific student's needs reasonably of what is real and what means are available in the class. I will expect to put in as much or more effort and time put into the school day as I expect from my learners. I will accept that I have as much to find out annually as my students, and I will be open enough to receive criticism and ready for new forms of training in an attempt to extend to all learning styles.

My role in tutoring

I view my role at this point as an expert, much in a similar way their actual school teachers are, yet also as a special source of back up and assistance. My role is that of an adviser because I do not teach the whole day day of lessons as my chief teacher does, hence I can be a source the students may choose to get supplementary help as well as can rely on to get back up. My role is also that of a scholar, so I see myself as a prolongation of my students, I am learning through all of them what it really means to be a successful maths tutor.

My teaching methods

Unlike many tutoring associations in Bellbird, during the regular school year, I actually work with the data which the child has in his/her class. This means I tend not to require that scholars do beyond worksheets and assignments which are not part of the learner's maths lesson, still, instead, I coach the scholar in places of his/her maths program that can be really complicated like quality and intensity of realisation, application of principles, and test-taking strategies. Everything I do is connected closely to helping the child to better understand the data from the mathematics course she/he is getting and in order to enhance the grade in that class.

Some more about me

My love as well as interest for the various disciplines of scientific research came out in my very early teenagers when I was lucky sufficiently to have an impressive tutor that was able to pass his enthusiasm and also passion for the sciences to me. From that time on, I've had great deals of practice in coaching trainees of all different skills as well as capabilities. Getting the most out of your examinations is having the ability to be pushed as well as to develop an instinct for the technique which can just occur by developing an admiration for the fundamentals, not just having the ability to spew info.
